You do not have to be an artist to make a sensational landscape wall quilt. Students will learn the how-to's of constructing the landscape using an "anything goes" approach. Combine a variety of applique techniques: machine, raw edge, hand applique, plus fusible web. Try manipulating fabrics for 3-D effects. Experiment with pens, fabric dye pens, fabric inks, and colored pencil to adjust colors. Anything goes to get the right effect. Students are encouraged to bring a landscape photo (or just gaze out North House's window at the harbor) for inspiration. Average size of quilt is approximately 18" x 24". Students unable to attend the full course may choose to join us for the first day.
