Performance Workshop with Mollie O'Brien and Rich Moore: Making a Song Your Own
Course Overview
The American songwriting tradition offers a wealth of soul-stirring material, beloved by musicians across eras and genres. From minstrel era tunes to George Harrison to Rodgers and Hart to Richard Thompson, musicians of all styles are blessed with an abundance of classics to add to their repertoire. The trick, of course, is to make those well-known songs sound like your own: how do you personalize the song without overdoing it? Join Mollie and Rich for this two hour workshop to get some tips from the pros. They'll cover (re-)arrangements, including melody and vocal lines, harmonies and accompaniment parts. Bring a song you'd like to work on in particular, or come and be inspired to try something new.
