Carolina potter David Voorhees will cover wheel forming techniques and tricks from 35 years as a potter. We will explore a variety of surface decoration options that can be used on your wheel-formed, hand-built, tile or sculptural creations in all firing ranges. Treatments will including altering, stamping, sprigging, piercing, scraffito, carving, slip trailing, resists and under-glaze painting. There will be a limited amount of hands-on time for participants. The workshop is designed for experienced beginners to intermediate level. The course takes place at the Grand Marais Art Colony pottery studio. Students register and check-in at North House Folk School.
