Investigate our local folklore and natural materials of the north woods. We will learn and discuss north woods stories and how masks can be used to dramatize them. Then with the help of birch bark, cattails, basswood, willow, and more we will make masks to help dramatize our own stories. Students will learn about how and why some stories are told, how to make things from natural materials, how to design and make their own mask and stories, and perform their story with their mask.
