Never Summer Sweater

Course Overview

Inspired by the rugged beauty of year-round sweater weather, the Never Summer Sweater is a worsted weight pullover that celebrates deep woods and short growing seasons. In this class, students will knit a top-down, circular yoke sweater featuring striking allover stranded colorwork and a yoke design inspired by bare branches and tangled forest canopies.

We’ll begin with swatching and technique practice—spending the first day swatching and getting comfortable with stranded colorwork, managing floats, and reading charts. From there, students will cast on the sweater and work into the yoke section. Those who wish to progress further during the class are welcome to swatch and practice at home before arrival.

Please note: this is not a finish-in-class project. While students will leave with a well-established start, the focus of this workshop is on building skills and confidence for completing the sweater at home.

Ideal for knitters who have completed smaller projects in the round and are ready to level up to a charted garment.

Students will source their own yarn to bring to class. A detailed supply list will be provided upon registration.
