Scandinavia, the land to the North with its long winter nights and mystical white nights of summer, provides the right setting for the human imagination to ponder spiritual and mystical insights. Myths and fairy tales abound, stories which aim at revealing a myriad of meanings for our human condition. This course combines informative presentations, story telling and writing, with the rich heritage of myths and fairy tales found among the Scandinavian people. Students will be involved in creating and telling his or her own myth or fairy tale, understanding that a true fairy tale is 'real' and not some aimless flight of fantasy. Recommended for ages 18 and up.
