Trace the historic developments of mechanical innovation in rope making as well as the changes in selection of natural fibers by first learning to make cordage, concluding with the actual production of rope on the North House rope walk. The remainder of the morning and the afternoon will be spent learning and working with the splices and knots that would be used to rig a small sailboat using natural fiber rope.
