Course
Lakeside Swatch to Sweater Adventure
Course Overview
It’s always sweater weather up north! Start your fall wardrobe early among new knitting friends. Let the rhythmic sounds of the waves and wind inspire every stitch. Using her most popular knitting pattern, the Reunion Cardigan, Brienne will teach you the secret to creating knitted fabric and a customized fit that you love. You’re going to want one of these in every color. But this class isn’t just about crafting a cozy sweater; it’s about creative intent. Let’s make time in the heart of summer for stillness on the shore. You’ll come away with a wearable swatch and be well on your way to a handmade sweater, too.
Basic knitting skills are recommended, but adventurous beginners are welcome! Knitters should be ready to read patterns, cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, pick up stitches, and bind off. That being said, Brienne’s here to help and can work through those skill sets with newer knitters. Participants should bring their favorite knitting needles and an open mind ready for creativity and exploration. Students can expect to pay $100-$180 for materials including yarn, needles, two patterns, and buttons. Instructor will guide students prior to class in figuring out sizing and purchasing.
Required Tools
- Students need to bring enough yarn to complete their projects, and a variety of knitting needles in different sizes. Instructor will not have materials available for sale at class. In order to determine how much yarn to buy, students need to purchase the knitting pattern here and pick a size:)
- There will be a materials list for this class based on sizing. Instructor will advise students on sizing and purchasing prior to class.
Optional Tools
