Lantern puppets bring a unique magic to nighttime theater shows and after-dark parades. In this class, students will create sculptural art that (literally) shines! Students will learn the basics of wire and cloth lantern puppet construction while using skills such as wire bending and hand sewing.  

Adults and older children/teens 12+ with good fine motor skills may register separately for this course and work independently. Younger children ages 8+ may collaborate with an adult guardian to make one puppet. One child age 8-12 may be included per adult registration. 

Students are encouraged to bring their completed projects to the lantern walk that will take place the evening of Friday, October 17, to experience the joy of seeing lantern puppets in their natural environment!
