Now that you know how to spin, are you ready to explore the fiber from various specific sheep breeds? But we won't stop there. Spinners around the world have experimented with many different fiber sources. We will sample alpaca, llama, mohair, silk, dog, and flax, along with some modern fibers including soy silk, corn silk and bamboo. And for the adventurous, try your hand at spinning cotton on a charka, the Indian spindle wheel. Bring your own wheel if possible. There will be three wheels available for students to borrow.
