Course
Felting Bags with Integrated Details
Course Overview
Felting a bag is making a hollow item. The felting technique is basically the same for any hollow item whether it is meant to be a hat or a tea cosy – or a bag. Then come the details: Bags can be designed with pockets, lids, and straps in many ways; and they can be attached or integrated in the felt. It is useful to consider the use of your bag when designing the size, the shape, the details and the durability. The color, too, is an important consideration for your design. You can mix colors when felting in so many ways. In this class, working with guest instructor Mette Østman from Denmark, you can make one or more bags and you’ll learn how to design and calculate for other bags in future projects of your own.
Your instructor will bring a number of leather straps and buttons/locks for students to buy.
