Karen will introduce participants to several styles of Celtic dance tunes and slow airs, and teach exemplary pieces from tab, notes and chord charts. Techniques to be covered include: strumming with a variety of rhythms and chord shapes, fingerpicking backup patterns, and lead (melody) playing both with a flatpick and fingerpicking. Tunings used will be standard tuning and “drop D” tuning. You should have previous guitar playing experience and you must bring your own guitars and picks.
