Students will learn plaiting with western red cedar bark, chase twining with finely prepared Alaskan yellow cedar and develop an understanding of the use of Northwest coast and Haida weaving techniques. An undeniably stylish and durable basketmaker’s classic - a pleasure to weave and a treasure to wear!Materials will include Northwestern red cedar bark Alaskan yellow cedar bark. This class lends itself to 3 days of lovely meditative weaving and some learning about cedar preparation; very satisfying for a patient intermediate level.

Basket Week 2018: Registration in this session of this course includes participation in a day of demonstrations, talks and other activities on Friday, August 31 as part of Basket Week for no additional tuition cost. More information will be provided in mid-summer. Please plan to participate!
