Course Overview

Pick up your hammer! In this service learning class, students will build a small storage shed that will be a permanent fixture on the North House campus. Lend a hand, and learn (or review!) the basics of stick construction, including wall layout, window and door framing, board and batten siding and metal roof installation. Jack studs to joists, fly rafters to d-edge, birds' mouths to top plates -- students will learn the use of basic hand and power tools, and develop knowledge of the materials and techniques used in frame construction. Lunch is included each day.
