All About Beading! A Technical Approach
Course Overview
Beading is a contemporary expression in the extensive tradition of Indigenous adornment crafts. This class will dive into the histories of quill and shell work and will explore the techniques and materials available for use today. Students will gain familiarity with a wide variety of techniques which utilize porcupine quills, horse hair, and of course, glass beads! Our time together will emphasize skill building and finishing techniques such that students will feel empowered to approach these mediums with confidence at home. Whether you're a practiced artisan or new to needle and thread, this course welcomes you to an innovative and care-filled approach to engage with this rich tradition. Open to students ages 14 and up.
