Course Overview

The lidded container is a classic project on the lathe. A well-made piece is irresistible, inviting a person to delicately lift the lid to peek at what might be hiding inside the hollowed out tree. Matt Monaco will teach students to turn beautifully proportioned lidded containers, emphasizing the fine details and design concepts that take these projects from clunky to graceful. He will help students develop their individual style and skill, both through singular projects and work in series.
