Basketry
Trashformations Basketry
Course Overview
Take recycling to the next level by learning to use a common household item to make attractive projects with simple weaving techniques. Students will learn the tight weave and open weave techniques using toilet paper and paper towel rolls. It sounds strange, but roll with us on this on: this ‘trashformation’ is really quite lovely. It’s also a great way to practice basketry techniques that can be applied to other natural materials using an abundant and easy to, uh, harvest material. A choice of projects will be available. BYO rolls please: twenty is a great number to start with, but more are always useful.
