On Being a Naturalist

Course Overview

It can be intimidating to begin a method of documenting what you notice in nature. Nature journaling books imply you’ll need to be an accomplished artist. Identification of species of insects, lichens, and more almost seems impossible. A journey of a 1000 miles begins with the first step. Let’s start the journey. Bring a camera and your field notes if you have them. Joe Walewski, Wolf Ridge Naturalist and author of Lichens of the North Woods, will be joined by other Wolf Ridge Naturalists…and you! We will learn from everyone on this collaborative exploration of the world around us. Expect to be a little active as we explore nature nearby.
