Needle Felt Christmas Critters

Course Overview

Who would’ve thought sticking a needle into something would make it more adorable? Well, with needle felting you can stick, prick, jab, and poke to your heart’s delight as tufts of wool transform into delightful fawns, lovely loons, and goony gnomes. Dress up your space with these magical critters, hang them from the tree, sit them on a shelf, or secret them away until a burst of cuteness is needed. In this two-day course, you will build needle felting confidence by starting with simpler critters and working up to harder ones. Explore various needle felting techniques and wrapping methods. Create expression through the use of armature wire, accent beading, and layering colorwork. Practice working in 3-D while using differently treated wool fiber to make a loon, cardinal, fox, gnome, and fawn. Explore the magic of wool craft with the spark of creative expression (and work out some aggression, that’s fine too!).
