Course Overview

This course is designed for folks that have experience carving spoons and are interested in building or improving the skills they have already developed. Over three days, we will cover the many aspects of spoon carving ranging from design, creating clean lines, seeing shape (good and bad), sharpening, and of course, carving in great depth. Time is set aside in class for review and observation allowing individuals the advantage of having additional eyes look over their work and offer feedback and ideas. Varying degrees of experience are welcome, but this class is intended for someone with a solid foundation in carving and an understanding of wood grain and sharpening. Having carved 20 or so spoons is a good indicator of the experience this class is directed towards.
