Registering for the Boreal Birding & Northern Landscapes Festival is easy. Follow these three simple steps:
  • Select the field seminars/courses that are of greatest interest
  • Complete the registration form listing the seminar/course titles, dates and fees
  • Mail the registration form with your tuition payment to North House (phone registrations are also welcome - please call 888-387-9762)
REGISTRATION
The festival weekend has a fully integrated schedule of events that offers numerous opportunities for participants. Your registration in a festival course/workshop is all-inclusive and includes highly experienced leaders/guides, morning refreshments, coordinated transportation on field trips (by van or carpool as defined by each course description), special evening speakers, evening refreshments and more.

If you have any questions about registration or if you would like to register by phone please call: 888-387-9762. Upon registration, a comprehensive confirmation packet that includes lodging options will be mailed to all participants. Registration deadline is May 23, 2008, thereafter a late fee ($10) applies. Cancellations after May 16 cannot be refunded.

DEPOSIT / PAYMENTS
A registration deposit equal to $50 or 33% of the course tuition (whichever is greater) is due upon registration. For courses with tuition less than $50, the registration deposit equals the full course tuition. The remaining tuition balance plus the materials fee (unless otherwise indicated), is due three weeks before the course begins. ** visit North House's Registration Page to learn more about the waiting lists, deposits and more.

LODGING
There are many wonderful places to stay both in Grand Marais and throughout Cook County. A comprehensive listing of lodging options will be provided to each participant upon registration. Information about lodging is also available from:

SO WHERE IS GRAND MARAIS?
Grand Marais, Minnesota, is located on the stunning and rugged North Shore of Lake Superior. Grand Marais is about 100 miles northeast of Duluth or about 250 miles north of the Twin Cities. From the Twin Cities take I35 north to Duluth, and from Duluth proceed on Highway 61. Northwest Airlines serves both Minneapolis-St. Paul International and Duluth International Airports.

WHAT TO BRING

Weather can be highly variable in Grand Marais and on the Gunflint Trail this time of year. In addition to your binoculars and spotting scopes, we suggest that you bring:
1. Layered, light-colored clothing; including sweatshirts/light jackets & long pants
2. Rain gear
3. Waterproof footwear
4. Hat
5. Insect head net and repellent
6. Lightweight gloves
